Who are we?

A group of theatre loving people in Amersham who formed a local amateur drama group way back in 1946, and we are still going strong.

With members from 18 to 80 we also have a great social scene outside the theatre activities in which we pride ourselves.

We put on two or three shows a year, in Amersham Comunity Centre and these have ranged from comedy to high drama. The single factor relative to every show is our desire to give 100%. The press and theatre critiques that we get are usually highly complimentary, praising our performances, direction and set designs.

As a group we are completely self-contained, all of our sound, lighting, set design and build is undertaken by members and for most productions our cast is drawn completely from members of the society.
However we always welcome new members from the Amersham area who wish to act or help the back stage team, to swell our numbers.

The social side of the society encompasses many activities from play readings in a members home (can be hilarious), quiz evenings, dances and supper evenings, visits to local theatres and shows, treasure hunts, barbeques and coffee evenings.

We like to enjoy ourselves whether it is putting on a play, going to the theatre as a group, or just getting together. Why not join us and be a part of it all?

We constantly need new people who want to act but we also need people who just want to help out behind the scenes in any capacity.

The sort of back-stage jobs that need doing are building the sets, working with the props needed on stage, costumes, sound, lighting, bar staff and even serving tea and coffees.

Would you like to be a part of our group?
